Slips Trips and Falls

Slips, trips and falls occur too often in the maritime sector and there are straightforward control measures that should reduce this hazard. The hope is to encourage good practice and to improve regulation where required.

SlipsTripsFallsStatistics This page gives the available figures on the scale of the problem.

SlipsTripsFallsResources This page identifies Regulations, initiatives, guidelines and other resources that should help to prevent such accidents.

SlipsTripsFallsLifeCycle This page identifies what the various stakeholders could do. Many slips, trips and falls could be considered 'latent' errors. The accident happens at sea, in port or in the yard, but the pre-conditions occurred much earlier.

SlipsTripsFallsIssues This page give examples of good and bad practice and discusses the topic.

Contributions are needed in all areas.
